The music that function bands play often starts to sound the same after a while. Grooveline is different offering 12 musical voices for the price of 7! In addition to the distinctive voice of Stephanie Adams as lead vocalist, there can be up to five supporting vocalists. Charlotte Jones switches between the effervescent tenor sax to the distinctive low tones of the baritone sax or the melodic and soothing flute.
The powerful trumpet playing of Tina Mortimer, pulsating bass of Darrin Newbrook, piano and synth from Simon Allen, exciting lead and rhythm guitar of Edd Carr and inspiring range of percussion sounds emanating from Guy Swinton’s drum kit completes the impressive dozen potential voices offering a unique range of sounds. The variety of instruments means the band can play any style of music whether it is modern chart music, 70’s disco, soul or swing.
Grooveline has an ever growing repertoire covering all styles of music. The band has the talent and the ability to arrange a song if the song you require is not on there list, for example a chosen piece for the "first dance". Whether it be a laid back, chilled vibe or the party to keep everybody on the dance floor, Grooveline work with their clients to create the right mood whilst providing them with the type of music they want to hear.
Grooveline can provide the perfect background music for your drinks reception or wedding breakfast. We have many duos available to hire including vocals and guitar / guitar and saxophone / vocals and piano. ‘Grooveline Entertainment’ is also able to provide many other different live music and entertainment combinations - jazz duo’s, trio’s and quartet’s - and DJ services. It might be a wedding reception, a business event, a celebration, or any other special function. Last year the band played on a factory floor next to a JCB, for the opening of a business, and on a squash court for a Christmas party! Grooveline won’t just turn up and play. Each event is different depending upon what it is for, where it is and who is going to be there. The band will customise a special programme of music from their wide and varied repertoire just for your occasion. You can decide what mood you want to create and the band will do their very best to provide it.
Many good bands fail because they ignore the importance of good sound reproduction. Grooveline has extensive and powerful equipment to deliver the best possible sound taking into account the acoustics of the venue. The dedicated sound engineer will set up well in advance and carry out extensive sound-checks to ensure that the sound is well balanced. He will then continuously man the sound-desk and make those fine adjustments to optimise the sound reproduction. The band also provides its own stage and effect lighting.
There’s nothing quite like a good live band to give your event that special atmosphere. Making do with just a DJ might be slightly cheaper, but you’ll be missing out on the special qualities that live music offers.
