Grooveline - North East Function Band

Stephanie Adams is a versatile vocalist who has been singing in bands since the age of 15 gaining performance experience in a wide range of musical styles. She has a London College of Music Grade 8 in singing as well O and A-levels in music. She graduated from Newcastle College in the summer of 2007 with a BMus (Hons) degree in Jazz, Popular and Commercial Music.

Stephanie has a great connection with the North East’s music scene having performed as a vocalist in local bands and many theatre shows at the Sunderland Empire, including ‘Annie’, ‘Anything Goes’ and ‘Evita’, and she works alongside many of the North East’s top musicians as a session musician. Stephanie is also a long-standing member of the Customs House Gospel Choir and sings for Charity Productions, a group who perform to raise money for the NSPCC and Cancer Research.

Stephanie managed and fronted her own function band, ‘Funktion’, whilst studying for her degree. She also was a backing singer in the Pink Floyd tribute band, ‘Shine On’, playing at many prestigious venues throughout the country. Stephanie joined Grooveline after finishing her degree and is enjoying using her vocal abilities and wide experience of different genres. “Grooveline’s extremely wide repertoire offers me a huge amount of scope and we are always looking to add new repertoire. I am really enjoying working with such talented group of musicians.” she said.

Grooveline is a Newcastle based band therefore they mainly work throughout Newcastle, Northumberland, Sunderland, Tyneside and Durham, however they are able to travel to anywhere in the UK and further if needed. The band have played many high profile wedding and function venues which include The Newcastle and Gateshead Hilton; St James Park, Newcastle; Linden Hall, Morpeth; Ellingham Hall, Northumberland; Headlam Hall, County Durham; The Federation Brewry, Dunston; The Grand Hotel, Blackpool and many more.
